Head of Xbox and Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has commented on the delay of Bethesda’s Redfall and Starfield games which made waves recently.

As we reported yesterday the much anticipated Starfield and Redfall games have been delayed from their 2022 release dates.

This came as a huge blow as these two games would have been two of the biggest games to be released this year and now the year’s lineup is looking a lot weaker.

Among the people that noticed the fan’s disappointment was Xbox’s Head Phil Spencer who promptly took to Twitter to have his say on the matter.

He noted that Xbox needed to “better meet” certain expectations and backed the decision to give the production teams additional time on both titles, but he also said that “delivering quality and consistency is expected,” and vowed to work harder in this area.

Starfield and Redfall delayed.

The official tweet stated:

“These decisions are hard on teams making the games & our fans. While I fully support giving teams time to release these great games when they are ready, we hear the feedback. Delivering quality & consistency is expected, we will continue to work to better meet those expectations.”

Xbox has its hands full with so many game developers now under its umbrella and it seems that Phil Spencer is determined to keep all teams up to the professional standard we have come to expect from Xbox which must be a challenge in itself.

All fans can hope for now are two great, bug-free games when they do eventually come out.
