Rise and shine, the Original adventure is back, and oh boy are you in for it…
Please note that this Review may contain spoilers from the Original game
Some key points that this Remaster offers:
- Improved Visuals.
- New Weapons.
- SHIFT Function.
Remastered:
When Borderlands first dropped into our laps, we were Awe struck by all that Pandora offered us, then we received a few DLC’s that added new missions, locations and even levels to our characters further increasing our Vault hunting journey… Those were some great days, the looting, thousands upon thousands of different weapons to make use of, each with their own unique abilities.
Now ten years later a remaster was given to us, if you own the original GOTY version on PC you received a copy of the Enhanced version free with all DLC’s included.
Several changes and improvements were made since then.
New Legendary weapons have been be added to the game, all Gold and tagged with the Gearbox logo, giving them that unique look: They are potent and a must have for every Vault Hunter, whether you are a melee user, sniper or run and gun player, there is one for every occasion.
Graphics and Visuals have also been improved: Character models, the environments, weapon and textures have all been improved and updated to support 4k…. Experience Pandora like never before.
The best feature is the SHIFT add on… yeah you read it right, they added the SHIFT feature and to smooth it over even more, if you played Borderlands 2 or The Pre-Sequel you get 75 Golden Keys.
They added even more guns to the tons of guns they already had … a perfect excuse to use some of those keys.
Last but not least, they added a few Character Head skins for each character.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
All in all, the Remaster is great, they really outdid themselves; the game has that nostalgic feeling, that calling, calling you the player to Pandora itself…
Pandora has been given an amazing make over, making it more beautiful than ever before.
The new content really adds to the game, the extra weapons and even the SHIFT feature really come together well, giving us a reason to re-experience Pandora in 4K, truly a marvel to behold, especially as you see Bloodwing swoop down and kill all dem Bandits….
The not so good bits, the game has a few bugs: which is to be expected, given that it is a remaster. Playing the main game, I haven’t noticed any major issues or bugs, but in the three major DLC’s there are a few noticeable bugs such as the ECHO pop up not displaying the character portraits properly. In the Secret Armory of General Knoxx the Monster handles very loosely, feeling uneven and not stable at all, something that was not present in the original. Surfaces you walk/ run on sometimes stops you as if there is a low wall that you have to walk around or jump over.
