Season Pass:

As per usual, we only complete and publish a Season Pass Review once the last content has been released. This way we ensure that our Review is accurate and contains all the relevant information.

The Season Pass gradually added to your RE7 experience, ensuring that the Horror never ends. With the first DLC, our nightmares got a fresh make over with some horrific footage that we viewed. It also added the Ethan Must Die game mode… Permadeath, the ultimate horror survival challenge.

Daddy
Daddy isn’t here anymore…

The second DLC added more footage to our collection and with them came somewhat different experiences. A brutal torture game where winning was an absolute must. We got a glimpse of how it happened when everything went to hell back then, and the Baker family succumbed to what they were. Then with DLC 2 came Jack’s 55 Birthday, less horror and more action paced… The goal is to feed Jack as fast as possible to attain those SS ranks.

Last but not least, we got to experience what happened to Zoe after leaving her on the docks…

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:

The DLC’s were kind of all over the place in terms of what they offered. They did however do a great job expanding the game whilst offering some deeper insight into what transpired over the years at the Baker mansion.

The majority of the DLC’s offer very little to no replay value which was kind of unfortunate. They did however do a perfect job sticking with the atmosphere of RE7. Daughters was terrifying but quite good, we got a close up of how the family lost themselves and fearing for her life, Zoe had to escape with hers. Nightmare was a fun survival experience for sure but the nature of the game mode didn’t make it that much fun to want to replay indefinitely.

Madness
Madness!

21 was downright hideous, they did a marvelous job with that DLC, the fear and dread were there every second, and not just for your character, but for what was going on and what you were part of. Jack’s 55 was a nice change of pace, less scary but a decent change of pace packed with new mechanics and to dos.

Zoe was the best for me, there was a clear goal and it didn’t take place in the past. There was still a life to save and a job to do. The new areas were beautifully designed with magnificent sceneries. It emphasized on how blood is thicker than water and that family will do everything they can for one another. You got to be that family member that risked everything to save another… Then the ending where a promise was fulfilled and you saw eyes that were hopeless for so long flicker with life and new hope again!

These are all but fantasy, but to experience them is an unforgettable moment nonetheless.
