Gameplay & Controls:
This beauty offers full controller support for PC players. There are options to remap buttons to more comfortably adjust to your playstyle. If you are playing with the keyboard and mouse, I can assure you that the experience is going to be just as fantastic as with the previous titles. You can completely remap your keyboard layout to your exact needs.
The game handles and plays beautifully, Lara has several new moves and tricks up her sleeve. Whether it is you covering yourself in mud to hide in shrubs or up against a wall to sneak past enemies or wait for that stealth kill. Stealth is the game changer here, there is so much potential and means to take a stealth approach to fights and situations, you can clear entire encampments without every alternating the enemy. The skills and weapons are there for you to get the job done, silent but deadly.
This is not all, there Is an upgraded skill tree that opens up a whole new level of ass kicking! There are new Takedowns, you get to shoot and string an enemy up from a tree. Besides new features and mechanics, several of the existing ones have received an overhaul. The Swimming controls have been overhauled; Lara can now remain underwater for longer periods of time due to air pockets that can be used to extend her breath.
Climbing has also been overhauled and features new mechanics as well. Lara gets to repel down or swing to reach new areas using her climbing axe and rope. Shadow of the Tomb Raider features the largest game hub to date, and with that a new trading system. Buy and sell a variety of goods to help you on journey.
The majority of the gameplay will take place in the jungle of Peru, its brimming with life, beauty and danger. Hunt, scavenge and loot to survive… As before there are numerous side missions and other explorable options for you to partake in…, ensuring you get your fill of this new masterpiece.
Graphics:
Beyond breath-taking! Whether you are playing on HDMI or 4k, you are in for a visual marvel that’s going to keep on giving! To put it simply, it is like a living picture you get to experience. The jungle looks and feels alive. The visuals and fine details do more than an incredible job bringing these elements to life. Whether it is the fauna going about their business or the beautiful flora, every aspect has been filled with incredible detail to bring them to life.
Animal behaviour and movement patterns are realistic and a pure joy to witness. The lush greenery that envelopes the jungle plays a key part in bringing life to it. Every tree, bush and shrub has been carefully detailed to offer us a realistic experience.
Character detail has been amazingly improved as well. There is more beauty, more depth and so much more to look at. NPC’s look so much more realistic and lifelike this time around. The same goes for Lara, she looks absolutely incredible! Facial features look better than ever before, character conversations are an absolute joy to experience.
Under the settings panel we have a variety of settings to fine tune how our game runs and plays. For the size and scale of this game, the graphics engine truly creates a fantastic and beyond beautiful game world that we get to experience. It does and will however tax your system accordingly.
Sounds:
Shadow of the Tomb Raider features a new immersion mode. You can hear the background conversations of all the natives in their native language to add to the realism that it offers. This feature can be turned off and then the background conversations will take place in your chosen voice over language.
As far as voice over acting goes, it has been performed pretty stunningly. It adds to the lifelike behaviour of every character. Character personalities are truly remarkable this time around if you take all of this into consideration.
Don’t forget the background music, no jungle can be alive without the sounds of animals, insects and other eerie music… The music does the perfect job adding life to the Jungle of Peru and all its inhabitants.
Under the settings panel we have full volume control to adjust the sounds to our needs.
Replayability:
The one thing that Shadow of the Tomb Raider does not have is multiplayer. However, that does not mean that there is no replay value here.
Just like before there are several difficulties to choose from, allowing us to put our skills to the ultimate test. Then there is New Game+, take what you have earned and start a brand new campaign. There are numerous tombs and ruins for you to explore and track down. Tombs this time around are much bigger, darker and deadlier ensuring that you will have to put your skills to every test!

You really are in for a grand time. Everything is bigger and better this time around. The adventure is much grander albeit deadly, you will have to race against time to prevent an apocalypse. Lara’s journey will take her to beautiful new locations that you simply can’t get enough of.
The updated mechanics and new editions truly enhance the experience. The jungle will become your new best friend. It will offer you beauty beyond compare and a journey you will never forget! The Tombs are the key winner here, they stay true to the nature of what Tomb Raider is all about, and this it does perfectly. The game features a dark sider side to itself and the game world which it thoroughly embraces, and in most cases, it causes that awkward tit bits of gameplay but not here, it actually improves the overall quality of the story and gameplay itself
One of the most exhilarating experiences here is witnessing how Lara evolves once again to become who she is meant to be, The Tomb Raider. Here you will find out that it is more than just exploring and gathering old trinkets. It’s fighting to survive… Kill or be killed, these are words we are accustomed to, but this time around, there is emotional attachment that will grip you sternly as you experience Lara’s struggle to survive the night and put an end to the dangers that lie ahead.
