A grand Steampunk adventure lies in wait for you; full of secrets, treasures and a whole lot of surprises…?

Gameplay & Controls:
For those that tread the path of the new ways, the game offers full controller support and for those that are set on the old ways. We have full keyboard reign here, and the choice to map our buttons to our liking. The game itself handles and performs beautifully.
Character control is smooth and dead accurate which is always a welcome experience in platformer games. This remains the same for both keyboard and controller.
The gameplay is a whole lot of fun; We have a Western Steampunk theme that revolves around some robots that manage a small mining town and then there is you, Rusty who arrives in this small little town.
You pretty much have free roam on how to dig, where to dig and how deep to go, it is limited by your equipment, as you progress in the game you gain upgrades which expand your capabilities. You have access to upgrades as well that can be purchased as you bring back treasures and sell them for gold.
Graphics:
The game has received a major overhaul since its 3DS release, the PC version is full HD that offers us gorgeous 1080P visuals.
Character design was upgraded as well giving us character animated portraits that add so much more beauty to the game. There are other improvements to the game as well that adds to the new found beauty it offers.
Under the settings panel, there are a few options we can make use of.
Sounds:
The perfect blend of Western and Steam-punky background music and in game sounds that enhance every aspect of this game. Every action has its own unique sound as well which makes exploring and mining that much more interesting.
Replayability:
When it comes to platformer games and their fans, a special bond is formed, we play these brilliant games over and over because of the uniqueness and fun that the game offers us. What SteamWorld Dig brings to the table, is a massive open world mine that allows us to mine and do whatever we want.
So, every playthrough can be new and unique if you allow it, but the game gets played for what it offers, a casual and very fun experience.

SteamWorld Dig is brilliantly done; at first glance it might seem like it’s a tad small and missing some features, but if you look back into the origins of the game, you will notice that the game was released on the Nintendo 3DS so for that platform the game is perfect.
However, it was updated to be playable on PC and they did some minor alterations and one big one, allowing for HD graphics which truly pushed the games popularity on PC to the same heights that it had received on Nintendo 3DS, it was that success that granted the PC release.
So, all things considered including the very acceptable price, this is one Indie Gem worth getting.
