  1. Challenging Gameplay.
  2. Multiple Endings.
  3. A Massive arsenal that can be used to fully customize your Tech Priests.
  4. Amazing Voice acting and a very impressive Soundtrack.
Squad
Full Team.

A Little fore-note: There are dozens of Warhammer 40,000 games out there and even more joining the ranks as time moves on; The Warhammer 40,000 universe is just that big, and unfortunately, they aren’t always good, fun or enjoyable. However, it is refreshing to see a new Warhammer 40,000 game that breaks that terrible streak.

Gameplay & Controls:

The controls for the game are rather simple, and that is a good thing here. The game offers very challenging gameplay in terms of Turn Based Combat. Sure, enough there are always challenges when it comes to these game types. However, in the Warhammer 40,000 universe you are always outnumbered and outgunned, and with Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus it is the same aspect so careful unit placements are not only advised but a must here.

Army
The army is growing…

Every deployment is unique in nature with unique rewards and battles, so it is never a run and gun dynamic. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus requires you to tackle each encounter taking into account of the map layout and the obstacles in it, these mere obstacles can be the difference between victory and failure.

Black Stone is a currency you acquire as you progress through the game, this currency also acts as XP that can be used to level up your tech priests which betters them and opens up customizable slots for them to equip various gear that you obtain from deployments.

Boss
Boss fights are plenty here.

Graphics:

Simply gorgeous; The game looks beautiful; it runs beautifully and it is pure joy to just watch it all happen. The animated scenes were given a lot attention to really stun and captivate the audience. Each level has been uniquely crafted offering visual splendour or horror, these are the Necrons after all.

Danger
Danger!!!

Character detail is on par; sharing the same level of quality as the rest of the game. Each Unit type has been beautifully created according to the Warhammer lore, giving us very realistic units and enemies to contend with. Our Tech Priests are perhaps the greatest work of art here; they have so many customizable options with numerous items that can go into each of these slots. Each item can be seen equipped on each of your Tech Priests, giving you some very nice eye candy.

Under the settings panel, we have a variety of options to fully customize our game accordingly.

Sounds:

Truly remarkable, the sounds for this game have been brilliantly thought out and masterfully implemented. The character voice overs are stunningly done, a mixture of man and machine that comes together beautifully delivering bone chilling vocals that captivates your ears like never before.

Enemy
The immortal enemy!

Accompanying this masterful voice acting is an even greater sound track that adds to this games dark and terrifying atmosphere. It sets the tone for the entire game, the severity of the missions, the threat of Necrons, it is all enhanced through the amazing Soundtrack.

Every other aspect of the game has its own sound to further add realism to the game. When you take all of this into account; the stunning visuals, the amazing sounds, the fantastic gameplay; mixing it all together creates one masterpiece of a Warhammer 40,000 game.

Flanks
Check flanking positions!

Under the settings panel we have full control.

Replayability:

The game offers several difficulty levels to test your skills, they are also attached to achievements for completing them. There are game modifiers that can further customize your game experience; to make things easier or harder, things like setting your Black Stone starting amount, or the permadeath option.

Kill
Kill them all!

All of this plus the different endings will keep you busy for a while.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is truly a refreshing experience, for once a Warhammer 40,000 was released that is actually fun and enjoyable: Please Note that this does not mean every previous or other Warhammer 40,000 title is a failure. Many of them are great successes and even greater fun, there are just some that the developers didn’t invest enough Warhammer 40,000 lore into them to give them the Warhammer 40,000 atmosphere and experience that we crave.

Tech Priest
Tech Priest reporting for duty!

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus delivers stunningly turn based combat that tests your skills and combat capabilities in this environment, you have to make use of everything that the environment gives you to ensure minimal damage and success. Failure to do so will result in casualties and mission failure. This may seem harsh but it is brilliant, it adds that constant vigilance effect to your game time which is refreshing and just plain fun.

The wide variety of customizable gear available to your Tech Priests are just as amazing, adding constant options and choices for you to make use of prior to combat.

There
There is trouble up ahead.

Now a bit of the bad, at times the game does get a bit repetitive, it is the same enemies after all, over and over, and that in the same environment, so you will have that to contend with especially since the game requires multiple playthroughs to unlock all achievements.

But when it comes down to the numbers, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus truly is a remarkable experience. It is fun, dark and absolutely brilliant.

Tools
Tools of the trade!

Constant updates and improvements are being made to the game to ensure your gameplay stays fun and enjoyable.
