Japanese Grandma Hamako Mori Is an avid gamer and game streamer proving that Gaming is indeed for anyone and everyone.

This 90-year-old gamer has just announced the exciting news on her own YouTube channel that she has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the oldest Video gamer streamer.

Mori has been playing video games of all types for 39 years. Her favorite console is the Nintendo 64 but she is currently racking up titles on the PS4 console, and says that Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of her favorite games. She says that it’s graphics and Cinematic atmosphere has made a huge impression on her and that she has so much fun playing it that she sometimes finds it difficult to stop herself.

When Hamako Mori was asked how she got into streaming she said:

“I felt that if I started to play games, life would be really interesting and I wouldn’t have to think about unnecessary things. I’m glad to have lived till this age and I’m glad that I’ve learned how to play video games. I’m enjoying life.”

She was born on the 18th of February 1930 which makes her exactly 90 years old this year.

On her personal YouTube channel, you can watch her enjoying all manner of video games, from Spec Ops to Dauntless to Call of Duty to NieR: Automata. Her oldest video is from 2014, where she was playing Skyrim and riding a dragon.

She has publicly thanked her loyal fans on her YouTube page for their help getting her into the Guinness World Record’s as they have very stringent conditions that applicants must qualify for to be recognized as a record holder.

In her Guinness interview she revealed that she wishes more of her peers would get into gaming like she has. She laments that more seniors, not only in Japan but around the world, don’t appreciate how fun video games really are.
