For those who haven’t played Gwent, Here is a little insight into the game.

Gwent is a turn-based game in which two players have three rounds each.

Each of these players plays one card at a time from a deck of at least twenty-five cards. Each of their decks will belong to a faction that offers different play styles.

Every faction has different “leaders” who will then have their individual abilities.

There has been a major update to the game called Homecoming: This update has changed the game in many different ways, For example, the leader is no longer a playable card but instead gives the player an ability and will mandate how many Mulligans are available to the player throughout the course of the match.

You are no longer limited to how many Gold and Silver cards can be in a deck.

Deckbuilding now uses a Recruit Cost system. Each deck will have a recruit cap of 165 with each card having its own recruit cost. The update has removed the siege row from the play area too, leaving only the melee row and the ranged row. A new card type, artifacts, was added to the game. These do not contribute points to your side of the board but offer various abilities.

Thronebreaker:

Thronebreaker is a spin-off of The Witcher video game and was developed by CD Projekt Red. It is a standalone Single-player component for Gwent.

Thronebreaker was released on the 23rd of October 2018 for Windows, on the 4th of December 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on the 28th of January 2020 for Nintendo Switch.

Gwent is available right now on the Steam store and highly recommended for fans of this genre.
