Konami appears to be preparing to support another NES platformer from the 1990s
According to a new leak, a classic game that was originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992 will be re-released for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Remasters and ports of many older games from the 1980s and 1990s have become far more common in recent years. This trend appears to be set to continue with a release from publisher Konami.
A new listing for Felix the Cat has recently been discovered on the ESRB’s official website. Felix the Cat is a platformer developed by Hudson Soft that was released in the early 1990s for both the NES and the original Game Boy. Although more details about this new release are unknown, Konami appears to be planning to remaster this throwback platformer and is expected to release it on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC at an unspecified time in the future.

“This is a collection of action platformers in which players help Felix save his girlfriend from an evil professor,” mentions the ESRB’s current description of the Felix the Cat re-release. “Players traverse 2D pixelated environments while using gadgets and vehicles (e.g., punching glove, tank, submarine) to defeat small cartoony creatures. Enemies typically fall from the screen when hit; some boss encounters depict whimsical pistol attacks, cartoony bombs, and mild explosions.”
The most intriguing aspect of this listing is that it refers to this version of Felix the Cat as a “collection.” This implies that this version of the game should include both the NES and Game Boy versions in one package. In addition, an unlicensed version of Felix the Cat appeared on the Sega Mega Drive. While there is no guarantee that this iteration will be included in this bundle, Konami may look to release it in an official capacity for the first time.
