After Only 45 Days, The Day Before Will Go Offline For Good Next Month

Time is running out if you’re still giving the game a go

On December 22, developer Fntastic announced that The Day Before would be permanently shut down in exactly one month. Because the developer has “ceased operations,” the zombie shooter will be taken offline on January 22 because no one is working on it at the moment.

The Day Before was released on Steam earlier this month, on December 7, to overwhelmingly negative user reviews. Players discovered that the supposed MMO’s online component was completely missing, and the gameplay loop was completely absent, leaving them disappointed and frustrated.

This prompted Fntastic, the developer, to shut down just four days after its launch. The Day Before had “failed financially,” according to the studio, and it didn’t have the funds to continue working on the game, especially after investor Mytona worked with Steam to offer refunds to all players, no questions asked. There simply weren’t enough developers to keep the lights on.

Given all of this, the shutdown of The Day Before’s servers was a foregone conclusion. This comes just one day after we reported that The Day Before Steam keys are being resold for $300 or more, for unknown reasons. Unfortunately, people may have paid to play a game that will no longer exist in a month’s time.
