Cyberpunk 2077 Hits 1 Million Daily Players

Cyberpunk-2077-Hits-1-Million-Daily-Players

This week, Cyberpunk 2077 reached a significant milestone by surpassing 1 million daily players

We recently covered how Cyberpunk 2077’s player base was being impacted by the latest update and the Netflix series. The numbers appear to have increased dramatically since our article.

It has now been confirmed via Tweet that the Cyberpunk 2077 player base has seen more than 1 million people playing each day this week. This number includes both new and returning players.

The studio also expressed their gratitude by saying:

“We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game.”

According to reports, Cyberpunk 2077 was the most popular game on Steam last week. It hit its highest concurrent player count since January 2021. As of yesterday, it is still among the top 10 most popular games overall.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently marked down to just $30 (+-R 530.00) on all platforms. This makes it easier for those curious to try the game to get their hands on it.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is the new anime series currently on Netflix.

The massive surge in players is blamed partly on the new Anime series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”, and it’s easy to see why. The game’s many flaws when it was first published scared away many players. The new Netflix series has given it new life though.

In Edgerunners a 10-episode standalone series, a homeless youngster named David struggles to survive in the futuristic city of Night City, which is fascinated with technology and body alteration. With nothing to lose, he decides to become an edgerunner. Edgerunners are mercenary outlaws also known as Cyberpunk, in order to stay alive.

One of the main draws of Cyberpunk 2077 is the setting and storyline. This limited series wonderfully captures the mood that the game tries to convey.

Phantom Liberty is the new update coming to Cyberpunk 2077 next year.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, Phantom Liberty, a fresh addition to Cyberpunk 2077, will be released in 2023. The update introduces players to a newly-launched area of Night City and resurrects Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves. The updated content will unfortunately not be released for PS4 and Xbox One.

CD Projekt Red has recently spoken about how they are “Totally Fully Committed” to growing the Cyberpunk series which is encouraging for those who are now hooked on the game.
