The Stranger Things DLC is being pulled from digital stores this November.

The news was announced via Twitter stating that the two survivors and the Demogorgon will be removed from the Dead By Daylight store in November.

Behaviour Interactive hasn’t given a reason for the content removal but it is most likely due to a license agreement expiration date being reached.

According to reports, The Stranger Things Underground Complex Map will be completely gone, and Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon will no longer be available for purchase through the Microsoft Store or in-game store from the 17th of November.

On November 17th, the gate to the Upside Down will close, and the Underground Complex Map will be sealed off permanently to players in Dead by Daylight,” reads the post from the Dead by Daylight team.

This means that if you haven’t already purchased the Stranger Things Chapter or these characters separately before November 17th, you won’t be able to unlock any of the achievements in the Stranger Things add-on. The affected achievements will be Adept Steve, Adept Nancy, Savage Takedown, and Adept Demogorgon. If, however, you have already bought these characters you can still use them after the 17th of November.

Luckily for fans, Behaviour Interactive will be lowering the prices of these characters from the 18th of August to the 17th of November you will be able to buy Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, and The Demogorgon at a 50% discount on the in-game store. The Stranger Things Chapter itself will be available from the Microsoft Store at a 60% discount and outfits for characters will be available at a 50% discount between the 18th of August to the 8th of September.

Licensing expiration has been an issue for many games and before games like Dead By Daylight, if a company wanted to license content, it had to continually renew the license in order to keep selling the game. Some games that were affected by this are Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and Alan Wake, and these games needed to be taken off all store fronts until their licenses were renewed.

Because all of the Stranger Thing’s material in Dead By Daylight is DLC and requires a payment in the main game, the game doesn’t need to change anything; it can simply cease selling the content.

So, if you are a fan of the Stranger Things franchise you should probably grab all the affected achievements and characters while you still can.
