Diablo 2 Remaster Rumored To Be Coming This Year

Diablo-2-Remaster-Rumored-To-Be-Coming-This-Year

Diablo fans have been eagerly anticipating a remaster of this iconic game and now according to sources cited by the French site Actugaming; a subsidiary of Activision called Vicarious Visions is working on a remaster.

Fans were originally shot down by Blizzard saying that the remaster “might be difficult to do” and that they will have their work cut out for them as a lot of the assets hadn’t survived.

If the rumors are true, this new remaster will be called Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Actugaming’s editor has previously been correct in calling the Diablo 4, Shadowlands, and Overwatch 2 announcements shortly before they were made public at Blizzcon, making him a more reliable source than the average leaker.

Vicarious Visions has previously worked on the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remasters as well as the PC Port for Destiny 2 making this a believable detail to this rumor.

Overview of Diablo 2 Resurrected

“Diablo II: Resurrected includes all content from both Diablo II and its epic expansion Diablo II: Lord of Destruction®. Battle your way through icy caverns, horrific tombs filled with undead abominations, and frozen wastelands to the frigid summit of Mount Arreat and stop Baal, the Lord of Destruction. Raise hell with two Lord of Destruction playable classes—the cunning Assassin, master of traps and shadow disciplines, and the savage Druid, a bold shapeshifter and summoner who commands primal elemental magic.” – Diablo 2 website.

Unfortunately, we have heard nothing official from Blizzard as of yet but if the rumor is true and the remaster will be released this year still then we are sure to hear from them soon.
