Blizzard responds to Snoop Dogg’s viral new post about quitting smoking via Diablo 4 and WoW’s official Twitter accounts

Following the recent BlizzCon event, where we saw Blizzard’s upcoming content for both of its behemoth games, World of Warcraft and Diablo 4 are on our minds. There’s no shortage of exciting Blizzard-related news, with WoW’s massive new story arc and Diablo 4’s expansion. But what about ridiculous news? The beloved studio has responded to rapper Snoop Dogg on Twitter via its official Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft accounts.

You read that correctly. The official Twitter of World of Warcraft has left a post referencing Snoop Dogg’s recent announcement that he is quitting smoking. The musician’s original post features a black-and-white image of himself with the text, ” After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.” Snoop then says that fans should “please respect my privacy at this time.

The top comment under Snoop’s original post comes from Diablo 4’s official Twitter account, and it reads amusingly, “We will not be giving up smoke, however.” Blizzard then clarifies that the team is referring to “hellfire and brimstone smoke,” joking that the developers “actually don’t know” what Snoop is referring to. WoW’s account takes it a step further by including an image and text.

The post on World of Warcraft simply reads, “Peon giving up work work,” referring to the Horde’s laborers, lumberjacks, and workers, also known as Peons. The accompanying image depicts a Peon in a similar pose to Snoop’s, with the caption, “After much consideration and discussion with my faction, I’ve decided to give up work work.”

I never expected to see Snoop Dogg quit smoking. I never expected to see Blizzard react to Snoop Dogg quitting smoking. Between this, the massive Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion, and the upcoming World of Warcraft Worldsoul Saga, 2023 is an exciting time to be alive. Who knows, maybe Snoop Lion will make a comeback one day, complete with a commemorative in-game lion mount. Snoop Dogg has yet to respond to either of Blizzard’s amusing posts, but I am hopeful that he will.
