Welcome to the Abattoir of Zir endgame dungeon
Diablo 4 has received a new patch, which includes an increase in Glyph XP earned from Nightmare Dungeons as well as a brand-new dungeon that will put your strongest builds to the test.
The patch notes for version 1.2.3, which was released today, detail how much extra Glyph XP you’ll earn based on your Nightmare Tier. Earned Glyph XP does not change from Tier 1 to 17, but after Tier 30, it increases from 66 to 79; from Tier 50, it increases from 106 to 139; from Tier 75, it increases from 156 to 239; and from Tier 100, it increases from 206 to 339. Those are significant increases, and they should help make the more difficult Nightmare dungeons feel more rewarding.
The update also includes Abattoir of Zir, which Blizzard describes as a new “endgame pinnacle dungeon.” To get there, you must have completed all of the chapters in Diablo 4’s Season of Blood. Once you do, you’ll unlock a recipe for a Bloodforged Sigil and spawn the Visceral Channel in Ked Bardu, which allows you to access the Abattoir.
Once there, you’ll have 10 minutes to kill enough bad guys to summon the final Bloodseekers. After completing each tier of the Abattoir of Zir, you’ll receive a new recipe for the next tier’s Bloodforged Sigil, and so on until the end. When you complete the first tier, you will receive the unique item Glyph: Tears of Blood. Blizzard warns that this will be “the hardest challenge you’ve seen in Season of Blood.” Even a top Diablo 4 player believes “nobody is supposed to finish the final tier.”
There’s also a nifty new feature that adds a new ‘View Possible Affixes’ button to the Enchantment menu, which allows you to preview the entire list of potential affixes.
Finally, the more substantial updates described above include a slew of bug fixes. One in particular addresses “an issue where the tooltip displayed while hovering over certain items could blink periodically.” According to the top comment on the Reddit thread discussing the patch notes, “This could be the only line in the patch notes and I would still be excited.”
