Division Meets The Last Of Us In The Day Before

The Developer Fntastic gives us a first look at the upcoming MMO title “The Day Before”.

The Day Before is described as “an open-world MMO survival set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars. You wake up alone in a world you no longer remember, setting out to find answers and the resources to survive.”

Many are saying it sits somewhere between The Last Of Us and The Division’s post-disaster narrative.

The Trailer will blow you away, with its visuals, its gameplay, and the realism portrayed. Trailers aren’t usually this detailed when it comes to showing us the actual gameplay. You are in for a treat here because you are actually walked through the game and it’s going on’s.

In the five minute trailer, the unlikely heroes will scavenge for goods, face off with some other players, and pillage a dark office building all the while avoiding and hiding away from the hungry hordes.

It’s the graphics that stand out prominently here, with every little detail bursting with realism. From the reflection on the cars, the lighting throughout the city, and the shadows that move with you, even the shine coming off the puddles is ridiculously realistic.

Every little aspect must be managed such as fuel levels etc. In the trailer, we even witness a chat with another player utilizing the in-game party chat.

Looting seems to be a large portion of the gameplay and we see this extensively in the trailer, where the survivors are looting cars for important items such as clothes and bandages.

We also witness a snowstorm approaching which brings up other aspects of survival, so you will need to keep your wits about you it seems. The HUD features Three gauges, probably for Temperature, Energy, and thirst so you will likely have to keep these in mind to survive the game.

You might be thinking, another Zombie game really? But we can see just from the trailer that this will be a Post-Apocalyptic game like no other. For a full description check out the official The Day Before site.

The closest we have to a release date is “Coming soon”, but hopefully this day comes faster than we expect as this is one exciting looking game.
