The upcoming Iron Man game has officially started pre-production and will utilize Unreal Engine 5

Not only did Notice Studio release Dead Space earlier this year successfully. They’ve already started shifting focus on their newest project, their Iron Man game. To date, details regarding the new game have been scarce, which makes sense for a game that only recently entered pre-production.

However today, Motive Studio’s general manager Patrick Klaus shared a small update regarding the upcoming title. Including the fact that the game will be running on Unreal Engine 5. Similar to what they did with Dead Space, they made use of a “Community Council”, that consists of fans from the Iron Man and Marvel universe. The goal behind this is to get accurate feedback and insight into what exactly Gamers would be interested in and utilize this information during the development process.

Klaus stated:

“Since then, our focus has switched to the Iron Man project, allowing us to work (and play!) with another extraordinary property. We’re still early in pre-production and taking our time to make sure we set the best possible foundation for development. But already, we’re finding so many opportunities to explore story, design, and gameplay with Iron Man, and it’s exciting to see the fantasy start coming alive.

Even this early in the process, we’ve put in place a Community Council made up of Iron Man and Marvel fans; as with Dead Space, they’ll be offering feedback on pretty much everything throughout the development process. Meanwhile, we’ve chosen Unreal Engine 5 as our game engine, in order to empower the dev team to work their magic and create something really special.”

Iron Man was created by the fans, for the fans.

Hopefully, with the help and input from this Community Council, the upcoming Iron Man game will be exactly what fans have been yearning for. Some of the previous Marvel-based games that have been released were not that successful.

Ashley Cooper

It was revealed earlier in the year that Ashley Cooper will be taking a role as a senior writer for the game. Cooper has displayed and shared a great passion for comics and superheroes in her past. Not only that, she has also previously worked as part of the writing team for the Gotham Knights game.

Her role in the writing for Gotham Knights were all related to the families of the character. Something that she excelled at and that interested her immensely. Tony Stark is a very unique character with a lot of range, attitude, and grit and has shown incredible growth as he progressed in life. So writers have many interesting aspects and layers to work with where Tony Start is concerned.

Iron Man and Video Games.

Some would say Iron Man is Marvel’s equivalent of DC’s Batman. Unfortunately, even with that going for him, Iron Man has never received many starring roles or remotely the same popularity status that his DC counterpart has over the years. Tony Stark did appear in ensemble games Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes, and Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix.

Iron Man also had his own Game Boy Advance game, a PlayStation VR title, and then there was the video game crossover with X-O Manowar. However, none of these really made a massive impact in securing Tony Stark a status similar to Batman.

We can only hope that EA’s Iron Man game will finally give Tony Stark his chance to shine so that he can join the other popular superhero titles such as Batman’s Arkham Games and PlayStation’s Spider-Man series.

What does add some hopefulness is the Studio’s earlier release. They did an amazing job with Dead Space, so there is hope for Tony Stark.
