Over 90 new and released games from Chinese and Taiwanese studios will be showcased during the week-long Enter the Dragon festival.
Pixmain, an independent video game publisher, has announced Enter the Dragon, its first Steam event that will include the latest upcoming games and releases made in mainland China and Taiwan.
The event is described as:
”a week-long celebration of the unique and innovative games being developed by studios from across the Greater China region. This event is made possible by some of the most influential publishers and developers from the region, and with support from Steam, a host of industry media, and many awesome streamers from around the world.”
Jeff Huang, director of Enter the Dragon production, Pixmain stated:
“The Enter the Dragon event was conceived in reaction to travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 outbreak, which have made it more difficult for Chinese game developers to reach worldwide consumers. A number of studios in China and Taiwan rely on their games in front of the global gaming community. Even after two years, there are still restrictions on travel and very few event opportunities. We’re hoping Enter the Dragon will fill a need by offering developers and publishers a chance to take their products to the virtual stage and gain visibility globally.”
The official site states:
“Dozens of released and upcoming titles will be showcased at the event, with never-before-seen trailers, exciting demos, and content updates. Also, for those hoping to pick up some of the games on show, there will be a range of bundles and discounts for the duration of the event.”
Enter the Dragon will feature an opening night show, as well as “virtual stage spots” and telecasts from Twitch streams all across the world. The broadcast will begin on the 22nd of April at 10:00 a.m. and will last until the 29th of April. The project will be streamed live on Twitch and on a Steam event page.
The event will feature major developers and publishers from throughout Mainland China and Taiwan, including bilibili, Lightning Games, Yooreka Studio, Thermite Games, indienova, and more indie newbies. Exclusive first views, playable demonstrations, fresh English language trailers, and insight into the latest developments of forthcoming titles will be available over the week.
So there you have it, a full week of Chinese games to look forward to, and you will undoubtedly find plenty that pique your interest and that you will want to add to your wishlist.
