Fallout London Delayed Due To Fallout 4 Update: What You Need To Know

The Project Lead For Fallout London Is Not Taking The Surprise Drop Of Fallout 4's Update Well, Stating, "That has, for a lack of a better term, screwed us over."

Fallout London Mod Delayed: Fallout 4 Update Causes Release Date Shift, While Console Size Constraints Pose Challenges

Team FOLON, the indie studio behind the highly anticipated Fallout London mod, recently announced a delay in the mod’s release due to the Fallout 4 current-gen update.

Originally planned for release on April 23 to coincide with St. George’s Day, Fallout London’s launch was pushed back because Fallout 4 is set to receive a significant update on April 25. Dean Carter, the project lead, explained in a YouTube video that the team had been tirelessly tweaking and testing the mod to ensure stability before the Fallout 4 update was announced. However, the impending update could potentially disrupt their efforts.

Due to the volunteer nature of the team, the exact release date for Fallout London remains uncertain. Nevertheless, the team remains dedicated to delivering the mod to players as soon as possible.

Despite the setback, Carter highlighted the positive aspects of the Fallout 4 update, which allows the team to optimize the mod further and implement quality-of-life improvements, including widescreen compatibility.

Despite Fallout London’s popularity, Team FOLON has never been in contact with Bethesda. Carter revealed that Bethesda has never reached out to them, and there has been no communication between the two parties.

While the Fallout 4 update offers several benefits, the size of the mod presents challenges for console players. With a file size ranging from 30 to 40 gigabytes, the mod is too large to fit on Xbox systems. Additionally, the mod’s size poses difficulties for PC players, as it exceeds the capacity of Nexus Mods. However, PC players will be able to access Fallout London through GOG accounts, with confirmation for Steam release and potential availability on the Epic Games Store.

Fallout London transports players to a post-apocalyptic London, set 50 years before the events of Fallout 4, with a focus on realism and melee combat. Exploring a devastated London, players can visit iconic landmarks such as Big Ben and the Tower of London that survived the devastation of nuclear bombs.
