News has surfaced from an industry insider that Fallout: New Vegas will get a sequel along with other “unannounced projects”, that are upcoming.
These rumours were started by Youtuber Tyler McVicker, who is known for his YouTube channel Valve News Network.
McVicker has proven himself in the past as a source for news pertaining to Valve and is even known for leaking the existence of the Half-Life prequel years before Half-Life Alyx was even announced to the public.
As such when he claims to have news regarding Fallout: New Vegas 2, we tend to sit up and listen.
The information comes from a video McVicker posted on his channel regarding his plans for his channel going forward.
The video covers things like the fact he has decided to entirely rebrand himself and his content and step away from covering news on Valve exclusively.
Working on the premise that for every one valve video he posts he will post two videos covering other content. He then goes on to mention some of the content he will be covering in the future.
This news includes information on the Nintendo Super Switch, Nintendo’s plans for Mario’s 35th Anniversary, Nintendo’s plans for Zelda’s 35th Anniversary, Nintendo’s 2021 and 2022 release timeline, The Outerworlds DLC 2.
He went on to say “I have a lot of information on Fallout 76, Starfield, Deathloop, Fallout New Vegas 2, The Frontier, a lot of information on the Nintendo gigaleak, The Elder Scrolls 6, and oh my god, so much more.”
He also mentioned “Codename Citadel” which is Valve’s next VR title among a lot of other industry news including Steam and the Steam mobile App.
He followed up on this information with a Tweet:
He doesn’t seem to mention Fallout New Vegas 2 again, just that he has “information” on it.
This Information could be big news or nothing more than speculation, but even after his video got posted to the Reddit thread “Gaming, Leaks, and rumours” and many were highly skeptical and voiced this. The author of the post known as (prince _of_ gypsies) came back at the critics with this comment:
“You guys seem pretty quick to judge. This dude has been a reliable source on Valve for a long time now. I’ve been following him for 5-6 years and he’s really thorough with his reporting and he’s never pulled anything out of his ass. Although I wouldn’t put money on everything he’s saying as he does sometimes (probably more often from now on) report second-hand rumors.”
So even though any rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, this particular leaker has been proved to be trustworthy in the past.
As with all rumours, we won’t know the truth until the official announcements have been made.
