Kingdom Hearts 4 Revealed

Kingdom-Hearts-4-Revealed

The new installment in the popular series is currently in development by Square Enix.

The announcement was made during the  Kingdom Hearts 20th-anniversary celebrations in Tokyo that a new mainline game in the series is in the works.

The official announcement trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4:

When the trailer starts, you’ll see Sora awaken in an apartment as what appears to be a gigantic heartless enters the city. Sora is seen with a completely new design, looking much more realistic than he did in other Kingdom Hearts games.

Sora pulls out his Keyblade and parkours and grapples his way to the adversary. As Sora confronts the Darkside, the camera pans up to reveal two hooded individuals, probably the Master of Masters and Xigbar, who was revealed at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 to be a vessel for the Master’s apprentice Luxu.

The trailer concludes with Donald and Goofy exploring a cave, likely in search of Sora, who went missing after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Before it turns red and the two scream, Donald and Goofy glimpse a blue light that most likely belongs to Hades.

It doesn’t tell us a lot about the storyline of the new game but gives a glimpse into the Kingdom Hearts world just enough to tantalize.

For those who aren’t familiar with the franchise, Kingdom hearts is a series of ARPG games developed and published in a collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company.

Kingdom Hearts is a Disney-Square Enix collaboration set in an original fictitious realm. The series follows Sora, the main character, on his adventures and encounters with characters from Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix, as well as new characters and locales created particularly for the series. The characters battle many forms of Xehanort, the series’ main antagonist, in the series’ main plotline.

We, unfortunately, didn’t get a release window or any other pertinent information regarding the game or gameplay, instead got the words “magic in the making” at the end of the trailer.

For fans of the franchise, this just brings up more questions and intrigue which is probably what they were going for here.
