It seems like the next Mass Effect game will set new standards

The next Mass Effect game will be making use of Unreal Engine, which is a massive step up and advantage when you compare it to Mass Effect Andromeda. The next Mass Effect title does not have an official name yet, so Gamers have labelled it Mass Effect 5 while others named it Mass Effect 4.

They will probably reveal an appropriate title as development progresses.

Mass Effect Andromeda utilized the Frostbite Engine, originally designed for first-person shooters. EA Games has tried to repurpose this engine for different game genres to save money. Nevertheless, the issue is evident: the engine’s original design is tailored for first-person shooters and isn’t well-suited for other types of games.

It clearly showed in Mass Effect Andromeda, a game that has no shortage of problems, and with the Frostbite Engine being one of its biggest.

The Original Trilogy Mass Effect games were made on the Unreal 3 Engine, and with that being said. Making use of the new Unreal Engine for the next installment of Mass Effect is great news.

To add even more excitement to the development process, it seems like the next Mass Effect game will also be making use of Meta-Human, a software that allows hyperrealistic character creation in Unreal Engine 5. It’s slightly different when you factor in the creation of alien species, however with the decision to make use of Meta Human it’s already a step in the right direction.

It’s a big step up from any of the previous installations of Mass Effect, that’s for sure. Time will tell whether the animation work complements the scope behind this idea. After all, RPG’s main goal is to create a truly immersive experience. And with the way things look now, they’re definitely on the right track.

However, with all of that said, it is based on a recent tweet made by Bioware’s project director Michael Gamble. Gamble recently responded to an Unreal Engine developer’s inquiries. Questions like whether they have any suggestions for enhancing this software.

Gamble responded to this question with a Mass Effect GIF featuring a Salarian. Sparking speculation that the new Mass Effect may use Meta-Human technology. This hints at the complexity of creating alien models using Meta-Human, as there are many diverse species in the franchise.

Regrettably, none of this has received confirmation, so we must regard it all as pure speculation.

There have been no official announcements or updates regarding the upcoming Mass Effect. We will be sure to stay focused on this topic. And when there’s anything official we will be sure to share it.
