Mortal Kombat 1 Confirms Two Huge Features Coming Soon

Mortal Kombat 1 is about to improve even more

Mortal Kombat 1 director Ed Boon has confirmed that two major features that fans have been requesting since the game’s release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch will be added “soon.” The problem with this promise is that “soon” is not only ambiguous, but also subjective from person to person. In the context in which Ed Boon teases the news, “soon” appears to mean in the coming weeks, and certainly before the end of the year, but this is not guaranteed.

The hint comes from X, where Boon told a Mortal Kombat 1 fan that both the Wi-Fi filter and cross-play are “coming soon.” According to Boon, the delay is necessary to ensure “they’re solid.” In other words, they do not arrive with any issues.

Boon concludes the post by stating that more information is “coming soon,” implying that NetherRealm Studios will provide another update on the matter before adding these two major features that fans were disappointed to see missing at launch.
