NetherRealm Studios Drops Quan Chi Gameplay Trailer Following Ed Boon’s Tease of Upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Update
The sorcerer’s capacity to conjure portals to the NetherRealm and make use of them for teleportation and special attacks is demonstrated in the new trailer. A huge tentacle can be seen in one scene slamming its opponent to the ground after emerging from a portal, and in another, Quan Chi leaps through a portal and lands on top of his adversary.
The next Kameo fighter, Khameleon, is also shown in the video. She assists Quan Chi in combat by combining moves from some of Mortal Kombat’s most well-known femme fatales, including Kitana, Mileena, and Jade. The final scene of the trailer shows a brief glimpse of the upcoming downloadable character, Peacemaker from DC Comics, whose voice and likeness will be provided by none other than John Cena.
On December 14, Quan Chi will be accessible on all platforms for those who purchased the Kombat Pass early access. On December 21st, he will then be on sale separately. The Kameo roster will see the addition of Khameleon in January and Peacemaker in February.
For the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Mortal Kombat 1 is currently playable. The Kombat Pass can be bought separately or as part of MK1’s premium editions, and it grants access to Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda.
