Behaviour Interactive announced a new gold edition as well as new DLC packs that make acquiring additional content more affordable
overwhelmed as the developer continues to release such DLC, prompting Behaviour to announce its brand-new Gold Edition, a version of the survival-horror game that makes the majority of its content available in a cheaper bundle.
But that’s not all. Dead by Daylight is also getting new DLC packs that function similarly, bundling together different Chapters for a discounted price. The Gold Edition of the horror game includes all three of these DLC packs, providing good entry access to a diverse roster of original killers and survivors with a far less obstructive paywall. Each pack is only $19.99 (R381.00).
Curtain Call, Of Flesh and Mud, Shattered Bloodline, and Spark of Madness are all part of the Maddening Darkness Pack. Chains of Hate, Cursed Legacy, Darkness Among Us, and Demise of the Faithful are all included in the Old Wounds pack. Macabre Tales is the final pack, and it includes A Binding of Kin, All-Kill, Descend Beyond, and Hour of the Witch.
Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to purchase any of the Chapters contained within the packs separately, but you still have time to complete your collection by taking advantage of sales before then. Each DLC pack, as well as the new Gold Edition, will be available on Monday, January 8. After this date, you’ll be able to purchase individual DLC characters only through the in-game store.
But there’s even more good news. A variety of original survivors and killers get a permanent half-off price reduction at the turn of the year on the big launch date of the new packs. These characters will cost 50% less than they did previously in-game, with prices starting at 250 Auric Cells or 4,500 Iridescent Shards.
This is huge for fans. With these upcoming price changes, the often arduous grind to obtain some of the higher-tier DBD characters and thus their important prestige perks is effectively cut in half. 4,500 is far less than 9,000, and the currencies affected are all in-game, so you won’t have to pay anything to amass your collection of killers and survivors.
The community is ecstatic to see it all come to fruition, as evidenced by a recent Reddit thread. Both newcomers and longtime players are excited about the positive changes, with some calling them “huge” and others simply thanking Behaviour for the “cool news.” You can read the developer’s original announcement here on the upcoming packs, price drops, and more to see why everyone is so excited.
