KT Racing – Kylotonn, the studio responsible for the World Rally Championship series and TT Isle of Man, is currently developing an instalment for a new Test Drive Unlimited game.

This comes 14 years after the original Test Drive Unlimited series was unleashed setting a precedent for open world racers.

Developer of the original TDU, Eden Games (now working on the Gear. Club Unlimited series) couldn’t quite pull off a successful sequel with Test Drive Unlimited 2 (released in 2011), though.

In an interview Benoit Clerc who is Head of Nacon studios (Kylotonn is among the studios Nacon has recently acquired) said the following about Kylotonn.

They’re based in Paris and Lyon. They’re specialized in racing. They’re doing off-road racing with WRC, and they’re doing two-wheel racing with Isle of Man TT. They’re currently working on our biggest project by far, which is the next Test Drive Unlimited game.”

TT Isle of Man 2, releases on 20th March 2020 so hopefully we get more details including a release date of Test Drive Unlimited soon.

What Is it?

Test Drive Unlimited is an open-world racing game, with a second installment from 2011 (TDU2) and an upcoming third installment (TDU Solar Crown) so far set to release in 2023. TDU is playable as single player or multiplayer and you can both roam on-road or off-road, with real-time challenges available.
