News has leaked that filming of Season 2 of The Witcher series has already begun in February.
The reveal proved that season two will be adapting the fan favorite chapters from the book Blood of Elves, where Ciri undergoes Witcher training in Kaer Morhen.
Geralt will reunite with old friends Lambert, Eskel and Coën as well as his father-figure Vesemir.
These new Witchers will appear in three or four episodes of season 2 and there filming is underway as we speak.
Prosthetic artist Barry Gower, famous for his work on Game of Thrones has apparently joined the crew and had reportedly made a body cast of Thue Ersted Rasmussen who was cast as Eskel so we are excited to see how his appearance will be drastically altered to fit this character.
Paul Bullion, who was cast as Lambert has tweeted various videos of his sword fighting training sneak peek here:

Lambert is described as “a tall, sharp-tongued warrior. Inclined to give in to pleasures like food, sex and booze but trustworthy.”
Yasen Atour plays Witcher Coën. He does not belong to the School of the Wolf, so is an outsider of sorts. He gains a connection with Ciri after assisting Geralt and Vesemir in her training. His character is described as “A warrior type. Deadly with a sword. Charged with training a young apprentice. Easy-going and fun.”
Lastly, we have Vesemir himself played by Kim Bodnia. Netflix describes Vesemir as “A charming relic of the Witcher Golden Age. He is the oldest and most experienced Witcher in the series, as well as a father figure to Geralt (Cavill). As one of the survivors of the Massacre at Kaer Morhen, a haunting slaughter that nearly exterminated the Witchers, he is fiercely protective of the remaining few, who he sees as an endangered community who can find glory on ‘the Path’ slaying monsters.”
I personally am excited to delve deeper into the back story of the Witcher’s themselves as well as getting to know more about Geralt’s personal journey.
Needless to say, excitement is mounting for the new season.
