New-Xbox-Showcase-Announced

Xbox has revealed that a new games showcase will take place next week.

Xbox has officially announced their next games showcase will be hosted on the 16th of March at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT.

According to Xbox, the showcase will be an ID@Xbox Showcase in collaboration with /twitchgaming, and will include new announcements as well as a variety of video games for Xbox from indie developers.

Jessica Ronell events manager at ID@Xbox said in her Jessica Ronell events manager at ID@Xbox said in her blog post:

“ID@Xbox and /twitchgaming will be coming together once again to showcase updates and new announcements of amazing games coming to Xbox from independent developers. Catch the show on Wednesday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.

We’ll be featuring updates, new trailers, and gameplay from Finji and Whitethorn, as well as the first game from iam8bit’s brand new publishing label. In addition to all this, fans will also get a chance to see the latest and hear from teams working on Shredders, Roblox, and some new games that you need to tune in for to see!”

Twitch and Xbox has collaborated

You can watch the /ID@Xbox Showcase exclusively on Twitch at Twitch. tv/twitchgaming or Twitch. tv/Xbox. If you are a Twitch streamer yourself you can co-stream the event too if you wish click here to see how.

This essentially indicates that a slew of new indie games for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass will be released in the near future.

It also means that no major first-party titles, such as those from Bethesda, 343 Industries, etc will be included in the showcase.

This doesn’t mean that the quality of the games won’t be amazing you will have to see for yourself as far as this goes, but here at MGR Gaming we are big fans of Indie titles and find that many a gem has been found in amongst these games.

Last year was the first time Xbox did an ID@Xbox/twitchgaming showcase and last year they revealed such games as:

Sniper Elite 5 (Rebellion Interactive) (Console and PC):

The latest installment in the award-winning series, Sniper Elite 5 offers unparalleled sniping, tactical third-person combat, and an enhanced kill cam. Fight your way across the most immersive maps yet, with many real-world locations captured in stunning detail, and an improved traversal system that lets you explore more of them than ever before.

Edge of Eternity (Dear Villagers) (Console):

The world of Heryon is torn apart. Years ago, the arrival of a mysterious alien force ultimately plunged the planet into an endless cataclysmic war where both magic and technology were unleashed to their worst and darkest extremes.

Now an even greater threat has emerged: in a despicable act of war, the invaders released the Corrosion, a fatal disease turning living forms of all kinds into misshapen abominations.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia (Coatsink) (Console and PC):

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is a satirical souls-like, which takes players on a journey through a pixelated landscape celebrating the history of video games. Featuring hard, but fair combat fans of the genre will relish, unique lore attached to each piece of equipment, and a twisted, wicked tale told by a cynical narrator, will you be the high-fidelity hero this world is looking for in 2022?

These three gems were just a few of the titles we saw in last year’s showcase, what will this year’s showcase hold?

Who knows you might even find your new favourite game in amongst the candidates at this year’s showcase so be sure to tune in on the 16th of March for more.
