In a humanitarian move this week Nintendo has donated 9500 N95 Particulate Respirator masks to local responders in North Bend Washington (which is Nintendo’s headquarters in North America).

Nintendo had originally bought these masks as Personal Protective Equipment for its workers but made the decision to give them out to aid in efforts against the virus.

North Bend thanked Nintendo in a post saying :

“Nintendo representative Jerry Danson has contacted Eastside Fire and Rescue to generously donate over 9500 N95 Particulate Respirator masks”. ”The communities served by City of North Bend and Eastside Fire & Rescue deeply appreciate the generous donation from Nintendo”.

According to the FDA official website.

“N95 Respirators and Surgical masks are examples of personal protective equipment that are used to protect the wearer from airborne particles and from liquid contaminating the face. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also regulate N95 respirators”.
