Capcom announced plans to host a Resident Evil showcase in April as their 25th Anniversary kicks off.
The news comes via a Tweet and a blogpost from the Resident Evil developer itself announcing the showcase in April, an open Beta for Resident Evil Re: Verse, and more …
On the Blogpost, they mentioned the news of the showcase but didn’t “want to spoil any surprises”, so they are letting us “speculate on what this upcoming presentation might contain.”
They went on to say that “The high-octane action of Resident Evil Re: Verse is getting an open beta, as well!
If you missed the closed beta or simply want to know what the game is all about, this new open beta will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam from April 7th to April 11th.
If you still have a beta download from the closed beta test, all you need to do is download an automatic update when the beta goes live, and you’re all set.
If you’re just jumping in, you can begin pre-loading the open beta starting on April 5th. Newcomers should also register a Capcom ID today so that you’re all set for the open beta once it begins!”
They mention that the Open Beta is completely free to download and play and that a purchase of Resident Evil Village will entitle you to download Resident Evil Re: Verse once it becomes available.
In Re: Verse you play as one of the iconic characters like Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine and you get to battle it out to see which team can rack up the most points. If you get defeated there is a chance you will respawn as a Bioweapon for a chance to take out whoever killed you in an act of revenge.
In the blogpost, the announcement was also made that the upcoming Resident Evil Village will be launching on Stadia on day one of launch on the 7th of May. They also reminded us that Pre-orders are available now for this much anticipated game.
The previous showcase in January shed some light on the gameplay and story details of Resident Evil Village and even though there is no set time or date for this latest showcase it is the hope that we will get a major information dump on the game.
All we can do now is wait for said showcase to reveal more add meat to the skeleton of information we have on the game that is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated of 2021.
