The Clone Wars wasn’t quite finished with us yet.
The creator of Star Wars: Clone Wars Dave Filoni has returned to continue the story in a new spin-off called Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This new series will premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2021.
According to a news release this new series will continue on from Season 7 of The Clone Wars. The series will follow the elite clones of The Bad Batch which have a genetic variation that sets them apart from the rest of their clone brothers that are part of the clone army.
This new show will follow these soldiers after the Clone Wars have ended and they are forced to take on mercenary missions to find a new purpose. each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
Disney plus SVP of Content Agnes Chu said in a statement.
“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series, While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
While there were no voice actors named yet for Star Wars: Bad Batch, it seems safe to assume that Dee Bradley Baker will repeat his role as all five members of The Bad Batch namely Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Wrecker, and Echo.
Meanwhile, in the Mandalorian Season 2, several Clone Wars fan-favorites will be making their live-action debuts. These include Rosario Dawson playing Ahsoka Tano and Katee Sackhoff reprising her voice role, only now in live-action, as Bo-Katan Kryze.
The Mandalorian Season 2 which will be the second season of the extremely popular Disney Plus Star Wars series will be back on our screens in October of this year, so fans will have that to look forward to.
