The popular Japanese competitive fighting game was first released in 1987 and was followed by five other main series games and various spin-offs and crossovers.

The last Street Fighter to be released was Street Fighter V way back in 2016 for PC and PS4, which sold a whopping 6 million copies. The series then got an update in the form of Street Fighter V: Arcade edition which added improvements to the user interface and content.

The series then got an additional update dubbed Street Fighter V: Champion Edition which included all fighters, stages, and most of the costumes released through season four.

The latest installment, Street Fighter 6, has no usable information yet, such as release dates, gameplay, or platforms, but we do know that the game will be produced by a new face, as former producer Yoshinori Ono recently left the company.

We also know that Yusuke Hashimoto, a Capcom staffer who previously worked at Platinum Games as the director of Bayonetta 2, is one of the game’s designers.

Street Fighter 6 was announced along with an official teaser trailer:

The trailer shows a ripped and sandal-clad RYU fighting Luke and lasts all of 39 seconds so not much is revealed here but the graphics look amazing and the battle intense.

Capcom also unveiled the Capcom Fighting Collection, which includes ten classic fighting games in addition to Street Fighter 6. It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on the 24th of June this year.

Fans of the series will be rejoicing at this news and as usual, we will be keeping our ears to the ground to get the latest news on this huge news from Capcom so stay tuned to find out more about Street Fighter 6.
