“We made the decision just over a year ago”

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has been on the rise in recent seasons, but the team recently told Kinda Funny that this content surge will not be carried over to campaign anytime soon.

343’s Brian Jarrad discussed the team’s ongoing plans for Halo Infinite during a wide-ranging interview on the Xcast podcast. While there is still a lot of content in the works for multiplayer, as evidenced by the team’s recent Firefight launch, the team claims that “nothing is in active development” for the game’s campaign:

“I’ll be honest, we have nothing to announce today regarding any campaign content for Infinite. I’ll even go a step further and tell you that right now there’s nothing in active development on that front.”

That’s not to say something wasn’t planned at some point. Again, we don’t have any information, but Jarrad says 343 decided about a year ago to focus solely on Halo Infinite multiplayer DLC.

If you’re curious about the team’s plans for Halo Infinite and beyond, the entire interview is well worth watching. Alternatively, a Reddit user has provided a lovely summary of all the major points discussed on the Halo subreddit. The future looks bright for Halo and Infinite, but we may have to wait a little longer for more single-player goodness from the franchise!
