Tony Hawk’s New Documentary To Premiere This Month

Tony Hawk himself announced on Instagram that his new documentary “Pretending I am a superman” would premiere at the Mammoth Film Festival in Mammoth Lakes California at the end of this month. The documentary will be about the THPS franchise, tracking how skateboarding culture almost collapsed in the early ‘90s before skyrocketing into mainstream again thanks to the X Games event and the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video games. Tony Hawk’s new documentary will debut on the 29th of February at 4:00 PM.

For those that are able to attend, tickets are still available at .

The Team making the film has said “The story is told through brand new interviews with skaters such as Tony Hawk, Eric Koston, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen and many more”.

Tony Hawk and fellow pro-skater Rodney Mullen along with some members of the production team will be at the Film festival which runs from the 27th February to 2nd March.

Mic reports that the documentary had been “independently financed.” It’s worth noting that the campaign was labeled with a “flexible goal. “as it was never successfully crowdfunded gaining only $17,409 out of its $75,000 goal.

Update: The majority of viewers enjoyed the documentary. It is, however, a wide spread remark that it lacked actual depth and many facets of the movie were too widely spread where they could have branched off into their own spin-offs.
