Sony has been running its own official message board for so long now, allowing users to chat, complain, argue and troubleshoot among each other. But now is the time that PS console players bow their heads as PlayStation shuts down its forums.
Recently, Sony has revealed that on 27 February that message board will be shutting down.
The announcement came via a short blunt message last week:
“Hello,
Beginning 27th February, the PlayStation.com forums will no longer be available.
We invite you to continue the conversation via PlayStation. Blog, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. For product support, please visit the support site, Playstation http://Playstation.com/help/.com/help/.”
Our team at MGR Gaming admit that this is quite a shock to the system and the news was not very ceremoniously done. Sony have invited us to join the blog but this is just a blog that discusses the topic at hand. The standard Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are very unhelpful when it comes to player support.
We are hoping they come up with a better solution as this is not desirable at all.
The human factor that was so inviting within the PlayStation forum community has been taken away, for now, as we for one last time come to terms that PlayStation shuts down its forums.
