Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 And 2 Remasters Announced

As announced by Tony Hawk himself via tweet yesterday, the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games will be getting remasters this September.

According to a press release, the “complete roster of original pro talent” is showing up which is exciting as far as the soundtrack and various athletes are concerned.

The studio responsible for the remaster will be Vicarious Visions, which has given us big names in the past including, the first three Crash Bandicoot games for 2017’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One and will support HDR lighting and 4k resolutions on these platforms. They will be arriving on the 4th of September 2020.

This collection will include the original levels, skaters, and tricks from the original games as well as tricks from later versions.

Added in the games will be the features called create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater as well as local split-screen and online multiplayer modes.

These two remasters will be different from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD in the way that they will be focusing on the individual games to produce remasters that are faithful to each game respectively.

The new remaster will also come with revamped menus and other modern quality-of-life features, as well as necessary features like lightning-quick, reloads of levels when a run doesn’t go as planned.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is priced at $39.99/+-R750.00, and a digital deluxe version with “unique content and in-game gear” costs $49.99/R930.00. A collector’s edition will also be available for $99.99/R1850.00 and includes the game’s digital deluxe content and a limited-run Birdhouse deck. Those who pre-order a digital copy of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will receive access to a playable demo, featuring the original game’s warehouse level, ahead of the game’s launch in September.
