Twisted Metal if you are unfamiliar is a series of vehicular Combat games that was first released in 1995 on PS1. The game is a sort of demolition Derby that emphasizes the use of ballistic projectiles, machine guns, mines, and even satellite-based and nuclear weapons.

Players choose a vehicle, and an arena or a series of arenas in the story mode to engage in battle with opposing drivers. A variety of weapons and upgrades are obtainable by pick-ups scattered throughout the stage. The last driver alive is the winner.

Twisted Metal was first announced as a series in 2019 and there was also a movie that was announced in 2012 but that never made the light of day, unfortunately.

There have been reports that Will Arnett has been cast in the role of everyone’s favourite character Sweet Tooth. PlayStation has also apparently offered Anthony Mackie and Kumail Nanjiani additional parts on the series, but time will tell if they accept these roles.

This new series will surely spark renewed interest in the Twisted Metal games and might even boost sales for this once popular franchise.

As everyone loves some good mayhem and destruction, this new series will undoubtedly gain a lot of traction as more information surfaces and release dates approach. We will be keeping a close eye so we can keep you updated on the progress of this series and everything else PlayStation decides to grace our screens with.
