Ubisoft Connect will bring Crossplay and Cross-saves to big games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion.
Ubisoft has announced that they will be merging Ubisoft Club and the desktop app Uplay into Ubisoft Connect. They are calling Ubisoft Connect an “ecosystem of players services for all Ubisoft games across all platforms”. Ubisoft Connect will go live alongside the launch of Watch Dogs Legion on the 29th of October. Watch Dogs: Legion being the first game to use Ubisoft Connect’s features.

The existing Uplay desktop app will be updated to Ubisoft Connect via an update that will download and apply automatically.
The Ubisoft Connect hub will be free but will require a Ubisoft account. Players who use this new service will be able to earn Ubisoft Connect XP when they play games and complete in-game challenges.
Gaining XP in this way will allow players to level up their Ubisoft Connect accounts, which will in turn award them a secondary currency called “units” that can be used to unlock various rewards.
Existing Club Units and XP will be brought over into Ubisoft Connect. Unfortunately, not all the games will be brought over though.
The good news is that Ubisoft is generously giving away all the rewards from older games that won’t have active challenge systems.
The full list of games that will be transitioning to Ubisoft Connect is as follows:
- Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
- For Honor
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Hyper Scape
- Steep
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
The biggest new addition will be the introduction of Cross-play and cross-progression in “select games”. This means that players on PC and Consoles will be able to play together, and all their saved data will carry over from one platform to another. This means if you are playing on PC for example you can switch over to PS5 and pick up from where you left off at any time.
Cross-progression will be supported in the following games:
- Watch Dogs Legion
- Hyper Scape
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Riders Republic
Ubisoft has said that its “goal” is to bring the Cross-Progression feature to “most” of its games that support multiplayer.
The Ubisoft Connect initiative seems to be just another way in which Ubisoft is making its platforms more accessible and user friendly for all those in the gaming community.
