Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to access the Project xCloud beta this week via the Google Play Store on Android.

The Project xCloud beta starts from the 11th of August for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Project xCloud will allow Xbox fans to play their games from multiple devices, with over 100 games starting in September this year.

The announcement for this new service came in last year October already and since then Xbox fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out more about this exciting new venture from Microsoft.

Microsoft has revealed though that it will a new Xbox Game Pass beta app on the 11th of August, so today. Anyone who subscribes to Game Pass Ultimate and downloads the app from the Google Play Store will be able to access it.

The beta will unfortunately not have the full Xbox Game Pass streaming library though, which will be more than 100 games for now we will have to settle for 30 or so games until the official release in September.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Streaming will only be available on Android devices though and there is no word yet if it will come to iOS.

The good news is with Microsoft pushing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as its primary subscription service, the company combined xCloud into the service at no additional cost to subscribers.

in a statement to The Verge a Microsoft spokesperson explained that: “As we approach the launch of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on September 15, we’re entering a limited beta period to ensure a smooth transition of the cloud gaming experience to the Xbox Game Pass app on Android Existing Xbox Game Pass (Beta) app users will get the opportunity to test a subset of the available titles as we ready the experience for broader availability next month. This limited beta is critical to providing the best possible experience for members at launch and should not be considered indicative of the final experience or library.”

If you are an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber and want to try out the new streaming app you will find it in the Google Play Store.

As this is a beta you should keep in mind that there will most probably be bugs and hopefully these will be found and sorted out by the time the app launches in September.
