“Value proposition for creators and for players”

In July of this year, Xbox announced the end of its preview for the Xbox Game Pass ‘Friends & Family’ plan. If you’re wondering what’s going on, Phil Spencer recently updated Windows Central.

According to the Microsoft Gaming CEO, the Xbox Family Plan still has a roadmap; the team just needs to come up with a “value proposition for creators and for players” that works for both parties. This has already been accomplished with Game Pass, and Xbox will “continue to look at ways to bring value to more customers while continuing to make it a great service for creators,” according to Phil.

The ‘Friends & Family plan’ was extended to six more countries at the start of 2023 before its abrupt preview closure in July. This plan was created to make it “even easier” for friends and family members to play Game Pass games with them across console, PC, and cloud platforms, including the ability to play the same game at the same time.
