Just a few of the Specifications of the Spatha X

Aesthetics:

The side buttons form the ROG eye and once powered up it adds more than just lighting to the mouse. It gives you that look that says, I’m serious about gaming. Accompanying the side buttons is the ROG eye that sits at the palm end of the mouse. The scroll wheel also lights up, giving you plenty of RGB in one package.

The entire mouse just looks amazing from any angle you look at it. It wasn’t just built for performance, they had appeal in mind as well. The X doesn’t just perform well it looks incredible.

This X sits there standing tall… I say this because another aspect of the X is its size. It’s massive, larger than large. By far one of the biggest I’ve seen to date and in all honesty. It just makes it look that much better.

I do not think a compact version of the X would remotely give off the same pleasing effect.

Albeit large mice not being a new thing, most large mice almost always lack in one way or the other. Buttons are too close to each other. Lacking buttons or just not looking visually pleasing enough due to its size. The X changes that, even at its size it’s still a stunner to look at.

Striking RGB Lighting

The rubber grip on the side of the mouse adds to the Aesthetics here making the overlook of the X that much more appealing.

Even the docking station comes with ROG artwork and its own RGB that syncs with the mouse. Just having the mouse docked there makes for one very visually appealing add-on to any setup.

Comfort:

The ROG paracord is designed to offer you smooth and swift gliding as you use the mouse. For once I can say that this is actually a fact. Using the X is absolutely a breeze.

If you have medium to large hands, you’re going to love the X. Coming in at a staggering massive size, the X will fit you like a glove.

The rubber grip on the side isn’t just for looks, but for grip as well to rest your thumb when not being used. Albeit simple in nature, it does a good job regardless of your thumb size. There is ample space.

The right side hasn’t been forgotten. It features its own crazy angled ergonomic shapes. These may look like they are going to be a burden, but once used your hands fits naturally.

The left and right click panels each have a slight slope to them allowing your fingers to rest on that sweet spot.

To the left of the left-click panel, we have two additional buttons that are fully programmable. They’re placed in such a way that you can easily use them. The scroll wheel is so clickable.

The underside of the X comes with its own low-friction pads to aid in the smooth usage of the mouse.

Durability:

The X features swappable switches, which means even if a switch dies on you, it can be replaced. Now, this is next level because even though ugh these are made to last long after replacing your mouse, there’s is always that one button or switch that tends to give you issues.

The push-fit feature prolongs the lifespan of the X by allowing you to customize the click force. The X also comes with ROG Micro switches and advertises a consistent click force alongside a 70 million click lifespan.

Comes with all of the above

This is a massive step up from the switch in the older Spatha version.

If this holds true then the X is a mouse that’s going to outlast a few upgrades throughout your gaming career.

The magnesium alloy chassis which can easily be seen from the underside of the X shows that it was built with strong sturdy and durable materials.

User Friendly & Functionality:

The mouse can be used either wireless or wired, without any issues and giving you total freedom. Adding to this is the 1000Hz polling rate that’s available regardless of the mode you are using it in.

A rather unique and perhaps clever feature is the docking station. It’s magnetic, thus ensuring the mouse can’t fall off while charging.

The X also features 12 programmable buttons and then there’s that ROG 19000 DPI sensor. The X makes use of the Armoury Crate software and from there you can fully customize how you want it to perform.

Set up individual RGB profiles, set up macros, and more.

The X also offers push-fit socket switches. Now, this nifty feature allows you to fully customize the click force. Speaking of buttons, the X also features pivoted button mechanisms. This allows for faster and more responsive clicks. No need to mention why this is a plus.

This might seem trivial but if you like customizing things to your exact wants and needs, then this is a feature you are going to absolutely love to use. The DPI can also be adjusted on the fly during use making adjustments much easier.

The left side of the mouse also features the six buttons that make up the ROG eye. Albeit this looks a tad difficult to use. They are properly angled making them rather easy to index.

The left and right click buttons are mounted with their own panels avoiding any unnecessary clicks or mishaps.

The underside of the X also has a master power switch and that’s also where the pairing button resides should you need it.

As advertised the X should last up to 67 hours with RGB off and about half of that with RGB on. However, you do not need to charge the X with the docking station, you can plug in the ROG paracord and continue using the X while it’s being charged.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:

Of all the gaming mice that I have ever had the pleasure to work with, I can say that this is without a doubt the best one to date.

It might be overkill for a lot of users out there, but this is the right kind of overkill for me. Whether it’s the unique design of the X or just the way it looks and sits and stares at you. I absolutely love it.

The X works for a great many reasons. The sheer number of features, its performance, and more. However, on the little side of things. Because of its size, the crazy shapes it has produced have all functioned flawlessly. They just work. Regardless of the angle, the X offers comfortable resting spots for any type of Gamer.

All packaged and ready to go

Something simple perhaps, but I thoroughly enjoy the new ROG switches. They have a light response to them; however, the click is well-defined. It has a decent sound and tactile feel to it.

I can’t say that I experienced any pre or post-travel from the X, and that makes the use even tighter and more responsive.

The sensor performed rather well for me. I couldn’t fault it. It’s got some insane tracking range. With a DPI up to 19 000, you really have options to play with. The optical sensor is really smooth and so easy to work with, whether you’re gaming or doing some editing.

Won’t go into too much detail, but the 12 programmable keys are really worth mentioning because they offer you even further customization.

USB port for wired applications

I won’t beat around the Bush; the X is pricey that’s for sure. However, based on what it offers, it more than makes up for the price. The X is on par with any competitor out there, outperforming some of them even.

This might not be the mouse for everyone especially when you look at its price tag. However, it does come with a range of features that evens out that price tag.

Its massive size is a definite win for me, making it much more comfortable and easier to use. However, this will not be the case for everyone else out there.
