Aesthetics:
The Delta is not just any headset, it is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll be Frank, white is not my colour of choice, however, the Delta White Edition has a beauty to it and I’ll be the first to admit that it looks stunning. The entirety of the headset is visually appealing.
It truly is a gorgeous piece of art. Coming in at premium this makes total sense. One can expect that extra from premium range products. After all, they do come at a premium price as well.
Let us not forget the RGB. It is all the rage these days. With the Delta White, the RGB thoroughly enhances the visual appearance of the headset. It simply looks better. Making use of the Armoury Crate app you can fully customize the lighting settings of the headset.
Comfort:
Long-term use of these headphones is made comfortable by the ear cups’ softness and breathability.
The shape of the earcups aren’t perfectly round and has a larger shape than many other earcups which seem to fit perfectly and are so soft that wearing these for hours is a pleasure.
The headband is a soft leatherette with cushioning that is a cut above other headsets. This headband doesn’t cut into your head after wearing it for a long time which just adds to the comfort.
Durability:
Nothing but the best went into the design of this one. The quality is absolutely outstanding. Just by looking at it, you can see that the entire design of the Delta was given great thought and planning. They executed that perfectly.
The materials used are of the finest quality which is evident from just looking at this beaut, from the earcups to the headband, to the smooth matt finish every surface was made with quality in mind.
The Delta was built to last.
User Friendly & Functionality:
The sound on the headset is some of the best I’ve experienced to date. It is better than crystal clear. Featuring Quad-DAC for superior audio quality. This headset was designed for audiophiles, however, this does not mean that a regular user should shy away from it.
It will offer you audio quality like never before. Powered by the Armoury Crate App you will have the world at your fingertips Tweaking and adjusting the Delta.
The sizable 50 mm neodymium magnets which make up the drivers, couple this with an impedance of 32 Ohms and a frequency range between 20 and 40000 Hz, and you have yourself a decent pair of speakers to wedge your head in between The 50mm neodymium magnets coupled with the 32 Ohms is the dream right here.
Adding to it is the range between 20 and 40 000 Hz. What does all this mean? This is one set that you will not want to put down once you’ve put them on.
I doubt there is an audiophile that would not be impressed with what the Delta has to offer. Further adding to the audio marvel that the Delta has to offer is the ESS 9218 Quad- Dac
(Digital to Analog Converter). Something that may seem like it isn’t meant for gaming but it does add to the quality of audio where gaming comes in. Whether you are going to be listening to some good music or playing games, the Delta will not let you down.
It was made to handle any audio that is thrown at it. I personally tend to have some good metal playing while working or going through recordings and there was no hint or lapse in audio quality regardless of what was playing.
Even on console, the Delta performs very well. There is a slight issue of the voice fuzziness but that is not big enough to avoid these.
If you would rather not use the mic that comes with the headset you can simply remove it and use an external mic. To mute the mic you simply press and hold the volume control wheel in and a little LED will light up on the end of the mic in your eyeline so you can see when it’s muted which is super handy.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Something that’s always worthy of mentioning, is the simplicity of using the Armoury Crate app. There aren’t many settings that frequently cause people to become confused. Because of its straightforward design, practically anyone can operate it with ease.
The Quad-DAC might seem unnecessary however I find it to be a nice addition that sets the Delta apart from other headsets. Let’s face it.
The market is overflowing with gaming headsets and in one way or another they offer the same exact thing, so having something new for a change does wonders. Another breakthrough on ASUS’s part here is how they managed to incorporate the Quad-DAC. Each frequency range has its own DAC.
This is a superior implementation that makes the Delta stand out further than it already does. To further highlight this. The Industry standard for Sound to Noise Ration where Gaming headsets are concerned is usually between 90 dB and 100 dB. Here comes the good part.
ASUS upped the game and the Delta sits at 127 dB. To be completely honest, this product comes as advertised and it will blow all your expectations away. The only issue I found here was that at times there would be a fuzzy sound coming from the mic. The price might seem a tad steep for some but it definitely justifies its price range.
