Aesthetics:
Curves in all the right places, the beautiful matt black and grey design compliment each other superbly. A perfectly portable little-shaped speaker. It has a handy little handle for easy carriage.
There are four conveniently placed buttons on the top of the speaker that are indented and fit in with the aesthetics of the speaker’s design.
The front mesh gives a menacing appearance while the back of the speaker is soft and almost rubber looking, these two surfaces are brought together by the grey strip in between them to meld the design together perfectly.
This particular speaker has quite a unique oval-shaped design to set it apart from its competitors and make it stand out in the crowd.
Durability:
The speaker was definitely designed with durability in mind. The matt black finish assures your speaker won’t scratch easily and all the components were made of high-quality materials.
There were no cheap components used in the manufacturing process and it shows from the very first time you pull this little speaker out of its box.
The speaker itself has a little weight to it so you know that it’s high quality and will stand sturdy on most surfaces. The rubber feet ensure non-slip so your speaker won’t just slide off the surface it’s placed on.
User Friendly & Functionality:
The controls for the speaker come in the form of four conveniently placed buttons on the top of the speaker. These buttons are as follows: an MFB (multifunction Button) with a circle symbol that switches the speaker on and off and also switches the FM function on and off.
The play/pause button answers and rejects incoming calls activates the voice assistant, plays music, and works on the FM mode as well. The – and + buttons increase and decreases volume, skip to the next song and previous, and also allow you to scroll through channels in the FM mode.
Once you get the hang of the controls, they are pretty logical but if you get stuck all the information you need is in the manual.
I found the sound to be rich with both bass and treble tones present and they come together to bring you a very pleasant listening experience.
I tested the sound on various genres of music to get the full feel of the speaker and I must say I was blown away by the sound it delivers. I also tested it with movies and podcasts and found voices to be clear and all the in-movie sounds were there making it a fully immersive experience.
Additionally, the speaker contains a USB port that you can use to connect a USB device and listen to music directly from your USB device, this will give you hours of listening pleasure which is convenient for say the beach, the pool, or that house party, etc.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
I loved this little speaker and found it to deliver a rich and immersive sound. It was pretty simple to figure out the controls and connectivity and you don’t need a degree to operate it like some other speakers in its class.
The sound is crystal clear and delivers both bass and treble tones beautifully and I personally found no crackle or buzz in the sound.
One issue I had with the speaker when I tested it on multiple mobile phones is that it tends to dial the last number you dialled randomly without warning which could be very annoying while you are listening to music or watching a movie or even listening to the radio on your mobile.
Other than this issue though I found the Burtone Portable to be a really amazing little speaker with great sound and it really packs a punch.
