Gameplay & Controls:
The game handles and plays very well. Bioshock has some RPG elements including stealth, giving us the option to take enemies by surprise. There are unique methods that allow for instant killing of certain enemies from stealth. The game takes great care here to offer you an excellent stealthy appearance and experience if you prefer to go that route. If you are more of a guns blazing kind of person then fret not. Bioshock allows for that as well, and there are a great number of weapons to help you along the way.
Combat is quite fluid and fast paced when it takes place. You will go up against numerous melee enemies that are quite agile and fast, and whether you respond with melee in turn or with weapons and powers, the game gives you fantastic access and opportunity to turn the tables and come out on top.
In many ways, Bioshock will remind you of System Shock 2. It has the same great mechanics and features that that equally great game had. These are just improved or slightly adjusted for this game.
As the sole survivor of a plane crash, you make your way towards dry land, and before you know it you find yourself deep underwater. Trapped now in this once beautiful utopia, you are now in the middle of a war that will decide the fate of and future of Rapture, the utopia you find yourself in.
Guided by a mysterious character calling himself Atlas, you will take on the forces of Ryan as you try and escape this now an apocalyptic nightmare. You will go up against deranged killers, that have lost all traces of the people they once were. ADAM a new genetic material that was discovered here gives its users superpowers; ranging from telekinesis to pyromancy is what it’s all about. The former inhabitants of rapture are all but hopelessly addicted to it.
Escaping this hell will lead you through massive and extravagant places that showcase once marvels of beauty and architecture… You will go up against deranged killers as they try and stop you from reaching your goal. As you progress deeper and deeper into rapture your arsenal will grow with more powers and weapons to fend off the armies of Ryan.
Graphics:
Truly beautiful, so much attention to detail went into this world. It truly is a marvel to behold and play in. Every level was given great care to ensure that it looks and feels the part.
The entire atmosphere that Bioshock offers totally enhances the game. Through its now horror and shattered state, you can still easily see and visualize the beauty that it once had and itself once was.
Lighting was done very well, especially how they incorporated it to make it look real albeit being deep underwater. Character models were created just as beautifully, be it the mean big daddies, or the deranged splicers. Tons of creativity went into making sure BioShock looks as great as can be.
Sounds:
Nothing brings a great game to life like great music. The soundtrack for Bioshock does this beautifully. Every nook and cranny is accompanied by beautifully composed music to enhance the overall experience and eerie theme that Bioshock emits and permits.
Let us not forget the background sounds that brings everything else to life, such as those creepy screams and howls of those psychopaths that now inhabit Rapture. The Voice over artists did an impeccable job bringing their characters to life.
Replayability:
The game offers a second ending, and this great game does require a second playthrough to truly take it all in. You can also up the challenge by taking the denizens of Rapture on a higher difficulty.

There is no doubt that this is probably one of the greatest games ever made. They went above and beyond to bring us one unforgettable experience. This experience is further enhanced by the fantastic story line that plays out as we progress further and deeper into the madness and mystery of what is truly going on here.
The morality based choices that we get to make makes this game very memorable and inspiring. Albeit a fantasy universe, the borders of Good Vs Bad are so effectively laid out here that it keeps you thinking and pondering. Once done you may be finished with this game, but it will stay in your memories, and I doubt you will easily or soon let go or forget those memories.
The powers that you get access to in the game were brilliantly adapted and incorporated into the game’s mechanics. The entirety of the game fits together perfectly. There is a place for everything and everything works together perfectly, and this is a feat in itself. Whether it is the hacking of robots or quietly sneaking past enemies, everything just fits.
We don’t come across games like this often, so be sure to grab it and never let go!
