Deadlight Review

Are you looking for an adventure?

Some key points that this game offers:

  1. Beautiful visuals
  2. Fun and challenging puzzles
  3. Easy to get into game
  4. Brilliant platformer experience
  5. Memorable gameplay experience

Gameplay & Controls:

The game handles and plays beautifully. I played both the console and PC versions. The PC version has full controller support as well. The game plays very fun with the keyboard and mouse option, but if you want to sit back and enjoy the adventure, a controller will work just as well.

The world has ended and there is only horror left. In search of your family, you will be traveling through Seattle, witnessing the aftermath of the event that decimated life on earth. On your journey you will go up against the worst kinds of monsters, oh and there is Zombies too! You will experience first-hand how humanity broke down and became the roaming monsters that plague what is left of mankind.

Here
Here we go!

Other enemies you will come across are Zombies. You will fight, struggle and run to survive each day!

Graphics:

We experience the game in the form of a Cinematic Platformer. It feels like we are watching a movie play out in front of our eyes. That is how gorgeous the game looks. There is incredible detail in every scene. From the landscape itself, to the destroyed extras in each scene. The different enemies that storm you.

I
I’ll take it all.

Everything looks beautiful and unique. This world is dark and full of shadow and damn does it look gorgeous! The games light and dark blends perfectly with each other to create a visually stunning masterpiece to behold.

Sounds:

Another marvel! The soundtrack for Deadlight is downright perfect. Every scene you explore has its own sounds and background music, the combination of the two makes the journey that much more memorable.

Monsters
People are the real monsters!

Loud noises when attacking enemies, and thus making them you can hear the howls far off in the distance. There is so many urban sounds that for an end of the world game there are many city sounds in it; and it makes the game so much more fun.

Voice over artists did an outstanding job bringing each character to life.

Replayability:

Deadlight is broken into chapters, and each of them have their own individual scenes. These can all be replayed by selecting them.

Shadows
Shadows, but we know ’em as Zombies.

There are numerous collectables that are scattered throughout the game world. Deadlight has also a number of achievements/ trophies, so there is some replay value.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:

Deadlight paints the perfect picture in a cruel and unforgiving world. This painted picture is done breathtakingly beautifully. The developers have gone above and beyond to deliver us a visual masterpiece.

Take
Take that!

The 2.5D platformer mechanics is gorgeous, and pure bliss to experience. There is a great story hidden behind the game, and experiencing it bit by bit as it unfolds is well worth the journey!

There are numerous puzzles and obstacles that will keep you entertained; Deadlight offers a grand platformer experience. You’ve got a great game that is enhanced beyond measure by stunning visuals and music with massive depth.

This
This is going to end badly.
