Elden Ring DLC Nears Release With Latest Steam Update

We’ve been waiting for this one…

Gameplay & Controls:

In a way, we knew what we were getting just not to what extent.

I can honestly say that the release of this game completely blew me away. Games of this magnitude are not released every day.

The gameplay is similar to the previous Soul’s games with several differences to make it stand out amongst the other Souls game.

Elden Ring Review

Elden Ring offers us a variety of starting classes to choose from. Each is unique to the build options that the game offers us. Whether it is a strength melee build or an intelligence magic caster. There is a build for everyone.

You’ve read that right. We have full-on magic in this beauty. There are dozens of Spells waiting to be discovered. This doesn’t mean that melee or Archer builds were left out. There are a ton of weapons and Armor that can be found throughout the game world.

Most weapons can be upgraded and then have their skill altered with unique Ashes of War. These Ashes grant the weapon a new skill depending on the Ash. Ashes such as Phantom Slash, and Lightning roll all the way to shield bash. There are dozens of these to experiment with.

You can find more than 60 of these allies throughout your journey in the Lands Between, ranging from a pack of wolves to some of the deadliest enemies you will face. These allies can be summoned to assist you in your journey.

Although the game shares the essence of previous Souls games, it is made slightly less difficult to make it more accessible to a wider audience.

The game is massive, as far as open-world RPG games go, this one took it one step further. You can almost go anywhere from the very start of the game. There is very little holding you back, it truly is an open-world game.

We have a massive crafting tree that allows us to craft a variety of Arrow’s, bolts, buffs, and numerous other items to further aid us. As you progress through the game, you can expand this crafting tree by discovering cookbooks.
The game features cookbooks that can be purchased from various merchants, while others can only be obtained by exploring the game world.

Combat is just as eventful as the previous Souls game. Blocking and dodging are key to surviving the brutal bosses that inhabit 5his World. We have a massive arsenal at our disposal.

The levelling system works the same as in previous games too. As we collect runes, this world’s currency we can upgrade our level by adding points to our attributes.

Dexterity, intelligence, Faith, and so forth to boost our status allowing us to wield greater weapons or cast more powerful Spells and incantations. Elden Ring introduces incantations as another form of magic. With the use of a sacred seal, you can cast these incantations, and just like there are a lot of sorcery Spells so are their incantations.

The game world divides into several kingdoms, each featuring unique enemies and surroundings. As far as NPCs go, we don’t just have merchants there are also a variety of side Quest givers that uniquely ties into the game’s overall progression.

Graphics:

As far as open-world RPG games go this is by far one of the most beautiful games I have ever laid eyes on. The game world is absolutely gorgeous, regardless of where you are. They somehow made this massive game whilst retaining the amazing visuals that it has to offer.

Character design is up to you. You have the option to fully customize and create your character. They designed the NPCs brilliantly. They all have their own unique appearance and personalities.

The day and night system works perfectly with the weather system of the game. Combined they offer one incredible experience.

The game world is full of incredible details, the lighting and shadows work perfectly bringing this world to life.

Sounds:

Subtle but always at your side. They chose the soundtrack for the game perfectly. It just works. Whether you’re running for your life on horseback or fighting your way through narrow castle walls. The score for the game does an amazing job of setting the pace of the game.

Voice-over artists took it one step further bringing their characters to life with brilliant voice acting.

Replayability:

As we all know by now. Completing a Souls game once is just the start of it. There is always a reason to play it again. Elden Ring is no different.

Whether you are replaying the game with a different character to give one of the other combat aspects a go or with the same character. There are always rewards waiting.

Increased rune drops. Alternative endings. Elden Ring has six endings waiting for you to discover.

Elden Ring has basic multiplayer. You can summon a friend or two to aid you in a Boss fight or you can invade other players’ worlds.

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:

I haven’t played a game like Elden Ring in years, despite some launch issues, the developers quickly addressed them.

Found the game itself to be beyond incredible with perfect design in its storyline, gameplay, and world. I couldn’t get enough of it and it became the only game I played day in and out since I first picked it up.

In this game, you can discover and explore numerous dungeons, as well as optional bosses.

The game has a massive arsenal with some of the best weapons I’ve seen to date.

By far one of the best games ever.
