Aesthetics:
Distinct! If you are a fan of the Gears Of War franchise then There is no doubt whatsoever who this character is.
Funko did an amazing job of creating this stylized version of Oscar Diaz. From the braids in his beard to the chopsticks in his hair, the tattoo on his arm, the details on his firearm, and right down to his outfit.
Funko even blended the light grey of his moustache nicely with the darker grey of his beard giving him a very distinguished look. He commands respect and strikes fear with his stance and readiness for action.
Functionality:
The functionality of this Funko depends on what purpose you have in mind for him. If you are a hardcore collector and your wish is to keep him mint in box he will stand with quiet dignity in suspended animation.
If you would rather bring him out into the world and display him he will serve this purpose well.
Do note though that he doesn’t come with a clear round stand to help with stability but he stands really well on his own and doesn’t really need one. Since his head rotates 360 degrees, there are more possibilities for positioning him for display.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
As far as Funko’s go Oscar Diaz has really got a striking presence and represents his in-game character with extreme accuracy.
As with all genuine Funko figurines Oscar Diaz is made with a very durable and long-lasting vinyl and as such he will make a longlasting companion to watch over and guard your collection.
My conclusion is that this is a really great Funko and necessary edition to your gaming collection, Funko collection, or even just as a toy if you so wish.
