It’s the Zombie Apocalypse with multiplayer… What more could you want!
Some key points that this game offers:
- Ultimate Co-op Zombie Experience
- Multiple Game Modes
- Advanced AI
- Wide map selection
Gameplay & Controls:
This one handles and plays like a dream. There is smooth and fast paced action from the moment your game starts. Control configuration is pretty straightforward; however, you can customize it if you have a preferred layout. There is also controller support for the game if you are playing the PC version.
Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse…
With up to three other players fight to survive and escape ground zero. This is not a run and gun operation. The AI Director tailors every game you play based on how you perform to ensure the experience is always new, thrilling, and challenging.

Team based strategy is key here in winning against the zombies and other things that lurk in the dark. The game is divided into four movies (Chapters) comprised of 5 large maps (level) each. The object is to make it to the end of each map alive with the rest of the team. You will go up against not only zombies but some unique and powerful monsters during the course of each map.
Sticking close to the rest of the team is the only way you will survive. Once the Zombies have heard you they will charge towards you in droves and unless you and the teamwork together you will easily get swarmed and snatched up by a special zombie or be killed by the regular ones.
To help you get through each map we have a variety of weapons and tools to make use of. Your starting weapon is the semiautomatic pistol, which also has unlimited ammunition. Fun fact, you can duel wield this one, doubling the damage. There is also a submachine gun and shotgun available. However, as you progress, more specialized weapons can be obtained such as a scoped rifle or assault rifle. Further adding to your slaying prowess, you can obtain improvised grenades such as pipe bombs, and Molotov’s.

On the healing side of things, there are first aid kits and pain tablets, these can be used to heal you or your teammates… Tons of weapons and options to help you in this fast paced horror zombie slaying adventure…
Graphics:
Given the size and scale of the game, it is rather impressive and quite appealing to play in and look at. Weapon damage can be seen as you inflict damage to the environment which is always a nice touch.
The environment was created pretty neatly with a lot of detail present in every map. Even in its simplicity, there is more than enough detail present in even the smallest of rooms to add to the left 4 dead experience.

Character models were created pretty well too. Each of the four survivors have distinct appearances and personalities. Lighting effects are rather stunning for the game, the same goes for the shadows of the game. Each of the special boss zombies has a unique silhouette and appearance which really ups the experience. There are a variety of regular zombies that were given unique appearances too further enhancing the overall quality of the game.
Sounds:
More than impressive and quite eerie. You are left 4 dead after all, and this in a zombie apocalypse… So, expect to hear eerie sounds throughout the course of each map… It was done and implemented brilliantly.

The scripts between the survivors themselves are simple but quite entertaining. Voice over artists did a very good job with their characters here. Again, each of the special zombies also has its own unique sound and musical cue, which really ups the value here, especially since it gives you a few seconds to plan for what’s coming.
Background sound brings this dead game to life in a very chilling way adding to the horror experience.
Replayability:
Left 4 Dead is all about replayability. Beat your own scores, or beat those of your friends. Take on higher difficulties to see how you fair against even tougher odds.

Or try versus mode and see how you will fare against other players. The developers made sure that this game will not leave you wanting… It will give you everything you could want, and boy does it deliver.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Spoilers Ahead:
Through and through a masterpiece! When resident Evil meets multiplayer. This game is like the Zombie game we never knew we needed. It has a very linear story that might not be as inspiring or original as we want. However, it is more about the gameplay, the road you travel with your friends… making it out alive in this zombie apocalypse, and here the game delivers it perfectly.
The AI does a marvellous job to ensure the challenge is always there, whether you are playing with AI NPC’s or other players. The game handles it well and the AI teammates do a remarkable decent job to stick with you and get the job done.

The game quality is done pretty well. We not only have a fun zombie slaying experience; we have some decent visuals to go along with it. The game is further enhanced by the brilliant music that makes everything so much better and eerier.
This game is definitely one for the books and I can’t wait to see where they go with it. It offers us the perfect blend of action, horror survival, and the ultimate zombie experience. The boss zombies really up the game when they come into play and if you are not careful, they can easily change the tide of battle especially on the higher difficulties.
This is truly the next best Zombie game you will get your hands on!
