The defining point in Resident Evil made an HD comeback!
Some key points that this game offers:
- HD Visuals
- 60 Frames Per Second
- Complete Visual Overhaul
- Fully optimized for Widescreen
Ultimate HD Edition:
It came at a great time, you can never get enough Resident Evil, that much is pretty obvious. They play great, the story is fantastic and Zombies man! These games defined the Survival Horror genre and without them, we wouldn’t have what we have today.

Albeit RE4 being more Action Horror, it still offers enough survival mechanics to keep the essence of what RE is about. These games all pretty much released way back then and they have not aged well with all the technological breakthroughs we’ve had over the years.
However, with some tweaking and overhauling they managed to give RE4 an HD makeover bringing it back so that we can re-experience this amazing game. A lot of work has been done to bring this game up to more current standards.
We have HD visuals and textures running up to 60 frames per second, which truly is bliss. Texts have been sharpened and textures on characters, in game objects, and backgrounds were improved to offer a more visually appealing appearance. The game has also been fully optimized for widescreen and undergone a complete visual overhaul enhancing every visual aspect of the game.

On PC there are some additional extras as well. Keyboard and mouse support with customizable key bindings and mouse sensitivity and acceleration options. There is also a variety of subtitle support now; English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Then we also get access to the bonus content Separate Ways.
MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:
Chances are you don’t even need my opinion to go and replay this masterpiece. If you enjoyed it the first time around then you are going to have a blast reliving those experiences. Everything just looks better and tweaked to give us a more acceptable visual standard when compared to other games currently being released.

They did an amazing job here. Everything looks great, sure the game is still old; it shows you that in the script which might come off as ‘cheesy’ this time around. The setting and game mechanics further proves that but this is not a remake it’s a makeover of a classic and that is exactly what we have here.
They gave the game a great makeover and for those of us who played it when it was released originally way back then, it offers a variety of not again and other nostalgia memories. Players new to the series have just as much to gain and enjoy from this game and I urge you to give it a shot.

The game that changed it all is back and it never looked better! Be sure to give it your time, you will not regret it!
