Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Banned Footage Vol.2 Review

More, give me more…

Please note that this review may contain spoilers from the Base game

Some key points that this game add on has to offer:

  1. Three New Game Modes

Replayability:

Similar to that of Banned Footage Vol.1, Vol.2 gives us two new tapes of footage and then a much larger Game mode. 21 is where Clansy is again fighting for his very life. This time Lucas got hold of him and he is forced to play a game of cards, with his life on the line. 21 sports three different modes, each unlocked after completing the previous one.

It's
It’s dinner time!

Daughters takes place on that fateful night when the Baker family lost their sanity. You play as Zoe, seeing her parents lose themselves, forcing you to escape the madness. Daughters has two different endings based on two different escape methods.

Last but not least, Jack’s 55 Birthday; still no Mercenary mode! But it is a larger game mode comprised of several different stages. One unlocks upon completing the other. The goal is to feed Jack food and drink before the timer runs out. Once completed, you unlock the next stage.

  3. Jack’s 55th Birthday
There
There they go…

MGR Gaming’s Conclusions:

A tad lighter on the horror atmosphere than the previous DLC, it is still offering a terrifying experience. 21 is absolutely brutal torture, and by far the harshest mini game I have played to date. The goal is to live and by doing so your opponent is tortured to death eventually. It’s a gruesome and quite gory affair that doesn’t go anywhere. It remains visible on the playing table throughout the game.

What
What the hell is going on here…

Completing a game rewards, you with some unlockable bonuses, which will aid you in future games. Daughters again puts you in the shoes of Zoe, as she sees how her family has lost themselves, and desperately tries to escape their fate. The game mode offers two endings, and once you have seen them both, there is no reason to play it again.

Jack’s 55th Birthday is lighter in note… You have to explore stages finding food and drink to feed Jack. There is a Molded in every room with some being Room Boss monsters, killing it unlocks a specific door that corresponds to the lock colour they both share. Some of the food can be combined to create higher tier goods that are worth more filling points when feeding Jack.

When
When will this madness end!

This game mode is also accompanied by its own scoring system that is tied to how fast you complete a Stage. There is plenty of replay value in this game mode and the game itself is rather fun as well. You have access to your item box which contains weapons you collect and unlock as you complete stages. Skills can also be equipped from there as you unlock them.

All in all, a rather unique blend of fun, horror, and dread!
